Ruth and Timothy wanted a nature inspired wedding in the beautiful French alps. They chose the village of Samoens which is located about an hour drive from Geneva Switzerland. Not only did they decide to have their ceremony in the mountains, but actually on a mountain pass, situated at 1700 meters with a panoramic view of the Mont Blanc massif. The soon to be bride and groom and several guests started the day by picking wildflowers in the lush green alpine meadows. These flowers were to be used for making the various bouquets and table decorations. The very talented and knowledgeable florist Xavier from “A Fleur et a Mesure” in Paris, showed people how to transform the mix of flowers into beautiful artistic creations. Everyone got ready in the typical wooden Savoyard chalet and then drove up the winding mountain road toward the Col de Joux Plaine for the outdoor ceremony. Despite rather chilly temperatures the ceremony was a success and I was able to photograph the couple just after with cows watching our every move. In the meantime, guests made their way back down toward Samoens where a cocktail, dinner, and dancing followed in the large heated tent.
