Sharleet and Will from London met in Chamonix and decided to get married there some years later. Sharleet had Indian origins and thus the wedding followed Sikh cultural traditions. The celebration took place over two days. I photographed the Mehndi party Friday night which consisted of a henna ceremony and dancing. On Saturday, the religious ceremony took place outside with a beautiful view of the Dru mountain massif. Somehow I felt as though I was photographing a wedding in Kashmir. The ceremony was very animated and colorful. During the evening on Saturday, everyone moved to the Chamonix golf club where festivities continued in a more western oriented manner with dinner, cutting of the cake, and dancing.
